The ARC Centre of Excellence for Electromaterials Science (ACES) is connecting with industry through research and development that creates vale for industry partners by:

Spin Out Company

ACES is proactive in developing spin out companies that leverage the IP developed across multiple research campuses.  Read about AquaHydrex, the newly formed hydrogen manufacturing company that leverages research into water splitting from both the University of Wollongong and Monash University nodes of ACES.

Research and Licensing

ACES has a wealth of research insights available that can differentiate products, accelerate development and enable greater competitiveness in terms of cost of materials.  We are in the process of developing a suite of wearable bionics products that leverage a number of areas of research from within the network of ACES campuses and researchers.

Understanding the Needs of Markets

ACES understands that businesses want technology solutions that will be able to deliver rapid market impact to large addressable and proven markets, and have the benefit of being proprietary solutions.  We have ongoing research in a number of areas that are unlikely to have market relevance any time soon, but we also have an understanding of how to develop a roadmap of near term solutions that leverage the work of the leading scientists whose vision is not governed by profit or markets, but is geared to the ideas of investigating the biggest challenges.
